Patient Types

In-Patient
In-patient is when you go into hospital for treatment or investigations and stay for one or more nights.


Out-Patient
Out-patient is when you receive treatment, investigations or consultations which do not need you to stay in hospital either as an in-patient or day-patient.


Day-Patient
A patient who receives treatment in a hospital and, out of medical necessity, occupies a bed or is charged for accommodation, but who does not remain over night.
